Who we are
We’re Josh and Chloe. We live and work on a 120-acre farm on the Fleurieu Peninsula, where we’re building a setup that supports itself. This isn’t a show farm — it’s a working place where we grow, reuse, build and figure things out as we go.
Josh is a sixth-generation farmer who’s always had a hand in the land. Chloe moved from the city and now runs the flower side of the farm, as well as flying drones and helping with day-to-day jobs. We cleared the vineyard that was here before and started again from the ground up.
We breed Boer goats for temperament — raised to be friendly, tame and well-suited as pets for hobby farms and small homesteads. Most are sold to families and farms looking for sociable animals, though some also go on to be bred for food. We also raise Australian White Dorper sheep for our own meat, keep bees for honey, and grow our own hay to feed our animals year-round.
Our small flower patch has turned into a growing part of the farm too, with fresh bunches now delivered weekly to a couple of local cafés. We rely on rotational grazing to keep our pastures healthy, and when something can be reused, it is — from vineyard posts in fencing to IBC containers turned into hay feeders.
We started our blog to share what we’re doing and how we’re doing it. Nothing is over-polished — it’s real, functional, and grounded in the day-to-day. Some things work better than others, but everything we try has a purpose behind it.
We’re still building — and always will be. There's plenty more to come as the farm continues to grow.
